Katy Mai | Jeweller

Katy Mai | Jeweller

Katy Mai Webster is a contemporary jewellery artist based on the Llŷn Peninsula in North Wales. Her work is inspired by the coastal landscape surrounding her home - its colours, textures, and the traces of human presence on the land.

Each piece is individually made by hand using high-fired porcelain and stoneware clays combined with sterling silver. Katy uses traditional ceramic techniques alongside monoprinting and hand-painting methods, creating unique surface patterns and delicate detail. Platinum and gold are sometimes added to the fired ceramic surface to highlight form and texture.

Working intuitively and often from her own landscape sketchbook drawings, Katy translates her observations into wearable artworks that reflect a sense of place and quiet craftsmanship.

Katy studied Fine Art at the North Wales School of Art & Design, graduating with First Class Honours in 2009. Her distinctive pieces - made from black porcelain, oxidised sterling silver, and hand-printed ceramic forms - are individually crafted, ensuring that no two are ever the same.
