Alan Richmond is a self taught painter living and working in the Scottish Borders.
The inspiration for his abstract paintings comes from a love of the highlands and Islands, photographs of imagined landscapes on the sides of old weathered boats, reflections that distort.
He creates his ideas using acrylic, spreading scraping, layering up paint, experimenting with colour.
Working from wasps studio’s in Selkirk he has been painting seriously for the last 10 years and exhibits widely.
